About the Programme

The purpose of this programme is to prepare students for entry-level positions in industry. It is designed for students to obtain a framework in basic business concepts and skills so as to contribute and create solutions for business problems.

Upon successful completion, students will acquire the knowledge and skills to apply management, marketing, statistical, economical, accounting and technological concepts to improve operational performance and aid in decision making skills. They will develop skills to communicate effectively and professionally in the work environment.

Programme Objectives

The Business Administration programme is designed to provide students with the ability to identify and analyse business problems, collect relevant data used for formulating and implementing business plans that respond effectively to current business environments.
2.
This programme is suitable to those who wish to either obtain a standalone qualification in Business Administration or as the first step onto higher-level qualifications. It is also ideal for professional who are looking to update their current skills and at the same time obtain an academically recognized qualification.
3.
The program focuses on core business concepts so as to lay a strong foundation in business administration and general management. Specialist subjects are introduced in the advance courses to allow the opportunity to pursue tropic of their interest.

Scheme A Combination of Assignment and Tests, 2 Tests plus 1 Coursework (Test 1: 30%, Test 2: 30%, Coursework: 40%)

BBA 104 Business Data Analysis BMK 101 Marketing
This unit provides an introduction to data analysis and its application as a managerial tool. Students will gain an understanding in recognizing and changing raw data into usable information for interpretation in the business environment. Students will develop their quantitative and ICT skills and learn how to apply statistical techniques to solve problems in the real world of business. This unit examines the role and value of marketing in today's increasingly competitive and dynamic environment. Students will learn the concepts in the management of the market function in diverse situations which covers marketing principles which provides an understanding of analysis, planning, implementation processes and control policies that helps to achieve marketing and corporate objectives in both profit and non-profit organizations.
BAC Principles of Accounting BBA 106 Organization Behaviour
This unit provides students with the basic principles
of accounting and their application. Students will
learn to prepare Trading and Profit & Loss Accounts,
Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Reports for sole
traders and companies with limited liability; They will
also learn how to examine the characteristics of cost
behavior in this unit.
Students will explore psycho-social, cultural and anthropological dimensions of organizational behavior. Students will understand how people act in modern organizations by exploring the major theories in communication, group dynamics, motivation, decision making, leadership, power and politics, and ethics.
BIM 101 Information Technology Management BBA 107 Principles of Business Communication
Students will learn how to manage the computer resources, operate and maintain the system within an organization, understand the need for data security and privacy, and design a computer centre appropriate for corporate needs. They will learn how to prepare budget for computing, set and enforce standards necessary for efficient and effective processing. Business Communication is an important aspect of Business Administration. Students will learn to articulate and present a variety of data in both written and graphical form, and will be introduced to latest technology relevant to the preparation and presentation of the information. They will be learn the principles of business communications that will guide in the communication process.
BBA 105 Management Concepts in Practice BEC 101 Economics for Business
This unit covers the Principles and Functions of Management. Students will learn the key elements in planning, decision-making and the significance of different controls required in an organization and will develop the knowledge on how to organize the resources within an organization.
